Grace Thornton is forced by Prince Andre Sinclair to abort three pregnancies. Heartbroken, she secretly administers a sterilizing drug to him. She then orchestrates the exposure of his consort, Molly Barrett's, affair with a guard, publicly ruining Andre's reputation. Consumed by regret, Andre relentlessly pursues her but is ultimately broken and dies from illness. Grace leaves the palace far behind, finally claiming her freedom.
